As .Com Domains itself covers more than 100 million domain names and with rest of comman domains like .Net and .Org overcrowds the Internet. Its becoming quite difficult for a business firm to find domain name of their choice. 

To overcome the problem of shortage of domain names ICANN [Internet Co-Operation for Assigned Names and Numbers] was petitioning from last eight years and finally have won the battle and Now, finally ready to boom Internet Naming with more than 10,000 personal interest based domain suffixes like [ .clothing, .shopping etc ].

ICANN is all set to launch these names by the end of January 2014 and also had started booking for the suffixes in late 2012 .  [ Check the entire list of open applications for domain suffixes here ]. Apart ICANN,  the gaint domain registrar 1and1.com also have started the per-booking of gTLD's [generic Top Level Domains ] domain names [ Pre-Book Here ].

 The first batch of approved domains now include generic words as domain suffix [ like .hello , .clothing, .sports ] and a number of location , language, and company baesd names [ like .nike ]. The list also includes some funky sort of suffixes [ like .pizza, .ninja etc].

The move of add more than 1000+ domains names will get marked as the biggest expansion of Internet in last 20 years.
