How to Use DNS Tunneling

DNS tunnling is one of the major ways to Bypass Internet censorship by sending TCP data over DNS queries. DNS Tunnling uses the DNS service used to resolve IP's from Domain names to transfer traffic.As, DNS is available to every system, Hence user can use DNS tunnling to bypass any sort of censorship.

We are going to use Your-Freedom to Tunnel Network over DNS. Your-Freedom simplifies the complex process of DNS tunnling and user just need to configure client according to the need. 

Installing Your-Freedom

  • Visit the Your-Freedom site and get the latest version of Client.
  • Register and Verify the account and remember Login details as they were going to be used in later steps. 

Configuring Your-Freedom Client

  • Open Your-Freedom client and Select Configure from Actions.
  • Now Under Server Connection Tab select Use Wizard and Continue following the options.
    • Enter Proxy Server Configuration if Needed and Press Next.
    • Check None on Connection Tweaks Panel and Press Next.
    • Now , the Client will ask you to Enter Protocols details. Check DNS and un-check All other protocols.

  • Now the client will search for available DNS servers which can be connected to tunnel network according to your present Network Configuration. It may take upto 5 minutes or more.

  • Now select any of the server according to your preferred server location and Press Next.
  • Enter your Login details , Your username and password used while signing-up.

  • Now Save and Exit to main screen and Press Start Connection and wait for a few seconds until the connection get established.

  • You can see data being Sent and Received, means the tunnling was successful and Now we can use the Internet freely. 

Configure Browser to Use Interent

As Your-Freedom runs on 127.0.0.1:8080 , We need to configure our browser to use the following proxy.

  • Now open you Browser and You are now Free to browse the content of your choice.
