Reliance aiming to Provide speeds upto 112Mbps on 4G Network
Reliance JIO Infocomm , is all set to provide 4G speed almost 15-18 times of current average 3G speeds. According to an annual report current average of 3G speed is near about 4Mbps while reliance is planning to provide practical speeds of 60-70Mbps through Wifi leased Line . Although , their systems are capable of attaining 112Mbps of top speed

At the testing of reliance 4G at IIT Bombay , people were able to touch speeds upto 60mbps which means one can download a full length 700Mb in less than 3 minutes and Uplink of 9-10Mbps i.e user can upload a HD video of 100-200Mb in less than 2 minutes.

Strategy

Reliance JIO Infocomm is already having PAN-India license which covers 22 circles. The comapny has a total 20Mhz spectrum ( BWA Wireless Broadband Access ) which is quite large as comapred to other operators. Apart, company has alloted 2.2 crore mobile numbers to start its service with.

Method of Access

JIO is planning to provide broadband services through wire-line service instead of Wireless 4G due to lack of availability of 4G devices in country. According to the report "Company will provide a wire to user's location from their CPE that can be used to connect various devices and create WiFi hotspots".

Apart from broadband services company is also providing set-top-box  to access Television services. Set-top-bos was built on Google's Android platform to provide world-class experience.

Jio Television Services

JIO Info-comm has tested its television services that they will provide along with 4G services. There are currently 110+ channels at the time of testing and they are working to add more till the final Launch . The service will also provide access to previous 7 days shows of all channels from their data centers to make user watch at their convenience without being recorded by user. They also aims to provide movies on demand and tested HD streaming of movies at IIT Bombay.

Launching and Pricing

Still No official date of launch has been provided and No data rates are out for the usage and television services. Although, from the last year's conference on 4G , Its mentioned that rates will be as cheap as Rs10/Gb with 10Gb bundled with base plan. JIO is signaling to launch 4G soon as their infrastructure is almost ready in major cities and testing is ongoing in many states.
